Youth Football Camp in Nashville Promotes Drug-Free Living Through Education and Athletics

Nashville, TN, Jun 18, 2026, ZEX PR WIRE — This past Saturday, a free youth football camp held at East High School brought together scores of young athletes ages 8 to 13 for a morning of skill-building, mentorship and an impactful message about living drug-free.

Hosted in partnership with an NFL player, the event combined hands-on football training with drug prevention education provided by Drug-Free Tennessee. The camp was met with enthusiastic participation from local families, with youth engaging in drills, teamwork exercises, and positive mentorship throughout the event.

As part of the program, attendees received sports bags filled with each of the “Truth About Drugs” educational booklets, providing factual information about the effects of commonly abused substances. Designed to be both engaging and easy to understand, these materials equip young people with the knowledge needed to make informed decisions and resist peer pressure.

In addition to the printed materials, each participant was encouraged to continue their learning by taking the free online drug education course offered through the Foundation for a Drug-Free World. As an added incentive, participants who complete the course are entered for a chance to win a gift card, reinforcing both education and engagement beyond the event itself.

“The energy at the camp was incredible,” said Julie Brinker of Drug-Free Tennessee. “We saw young people not only improving their athletic skills, but also gaining important knowledge that can help guide them toward healthy, drug-free choices. When education is paired with something they love, like sports, the impact is lasting.”

Drug-Free Tennessee, a chapter of the Foundation for a Drug-Free World, continues to provide free educational resources, community events and outreach programs across the state. Through initiatives like this football camp, the organization aims to empower youth with the facts about drugs so they can make decisions that support their health, goals and future success.
