Interplay Learning named to TIME’s list of the World’s Top EdTech Companies
The leader in immersive training for the industrial and skilled trades is among 500 top-performing companies in the industry
AUSTIN, Texas, Aug 27, 2026, ZEX PR WIRE — Interplay Learning, the leading provider of immersive training for the skilled trades and industrial crafts, has earned a spot on TIME and Statista’s joint ranking of the World’s Top EdTech Companies. The exclusive international ranking identifies the 500 top-performing businesses providing educational technologies, products or services. To determine the final list, evaluators thoroughly analyzed a global field of roughly 6,500 eligible enterprises.
Earlier this year Interplay Learning appeared on TIME’s list of America’s Top EdTech Companies which also evaluated financial health, overall market standing and footprint in educational technologies. The World’s Top EdTech Companies ranking added another qualification: alignment with the United Nations (UN) Sustainable Development Goals, a global agreement supported by all UN members dedicated to improving health and education, boosting economic growth and addressing other critical priorities for both developed and developing countries.
“The demand for skilled workers is growing faster than the systems traditionally used to train them can keep up,” said Doug Donovan, CEO of Interplay Learning. “We need to rethink how people enter technical careers and how quickly they can build real competency. That need is becoming especially urgent as industries like data centers put even more pressure on an already strained skilled workforce. Our focus is on building a workforce development model that can scale with that demand.”
Interplay Learning’s platform modernizes workforce development by blending online training with virtual reality, AI and immersive 3D simulations to make learning accessible anywhere. With over 500,000 people trained, Interplay has successfully helped organizations and educational institutions modernize workforce training across a broad spectrum of industries.
The TIME listing joins other recent edtech accolades for Interplay Learning, including being named “Career Readiness Solution of the Year” in the EdTech Breakthrough Awards program in 2026. Other recent honors for the company include the 2025 IACET Instructional Impact Award, a spot on the 2026 Inc. 5000 list and recognition on Forbes’ list of America’s Best Startup Employers for 2026.
