President Biden wants to reform immigration to the United States
US President Joe Biden insists on reforming immigration law in the United States. “In the competition for the 21st century, we need an immigration system that reflects both our values and complies with our laws,” said Biden on Friday at a naturalisation ceremony. “We have to put our immigration system in order.”
A few months ago, Biden presented a bill for a new immigration law. The goal is intelligent border security – but also a way to citizenship for millions of people who lived in the USA without papers, Biden now emphasised. This applies, for example, to the so-called dreamers who illegally entered the USA with their parents as children. Often they only know the USA as their home, Biden said.
