Rising country star releases new break-up single in time for Valentine’s Day
Cody Wolfe’s ‘Better Without You,’ now available for pre-order, is for all the folks who want to stick it to an ex
Nashville, 7th Feb 2021, ZEXPRWIRE — When emerging country music star and hometown boy Cody Wolfe’s girlfriend left him brokenhearted, he spent more than a year living in his car as he tried to make it in Nashville’s cut-throat music industry.
After the break-up, he worked by day and wrote songs by night, all while battling tornadoes, a surgery, COVID-19 setbacks, and the loss of a deal with a GRAMMY-winning label Empire Distribution. He also dodged a few mass shootings and the 2020 Nashville bomb.
Then all four tires on his car went flat.
“I did all I could do just to pay for a song,” he said. “When all the tires on my car went flat, the battery died too, and after spending nearly every holiday alone while living in a car to pay for demos, I thought all my luck had run out.”
He was ready to throw in the towel on his music career when one of his songs suddenly blew up.
“With the payout from ‘Don’t Blame Your Drunk On Me’ I was able to charter my very first private jet,” he said.
Now, Wolfe has released a new break-up anthem, “Better Without You,” just in time for Valentine’s Day.
He wrote the single as a kind of payback song with the goal of rubbing it in his ex-girlfriend’s face after leaving him for someone else while he was working hard for a music career and a new life in Nashville.
The song is now available for pre-order on iTunes starting today.
Cody Wolfe is a prolific songwriter with more than 300 songs under his belt. As he started building his music empire, he followed more than a million people on Twitter by hand just to get his music heard. During the COVID-19 pandemic, the talented songwriter and vocalist challenged himself to write music every single day while devoting himself to his fans.
Better Without You was released by Wolfe’s new indie record label, Wolfe Den Records.
