“Thor 4”: Photos from the set suggest a funny star spectacle

“Thor 4” should pick up where the third part left off – both in terms of star cast and a special, funny idea.

All those who are looking forward to “Thor 4” (full title: “Thor 4: Love And Thunder”) can already look forward to a star-studded theater spectacle – in the truest sense of the word. As in the previous “Thor 3: Day of Decision”, the fourth part is supposed to be a kind of theater play in which nameless actors reenact the events of the plot from “Thor 2”. These seemingly unknown actors are actually Hollywood superstars like Matt Damon, Luke Hemsworth and Sam Neill, who then appeared as fake Loki, fake Thor and fake Odin.

Theater cast also in “Thor 4”

It was already speculated in advance that director Taika Waititi was planning such a meta-spectacle in the fourth part as well, in order to deal with the events of the third part. As the British newspaper “Daily Mail” now reports, set photos confirm these speculations. Damon, Neill and Hemsworth are said to be there again as theater versions of Loki, Odin and Thor. In the pictures, Hemsworth and Damon wear the same costumes as Original Thor (Chris Hemsworth) and Original Loki (Tom Hiddleston) when they meet Doctor Strange.

In the meta-play cast of “Thor 4” there is also a new addition to the star team: Melissa McCarthy, known among other things as Sookie from the cult series “Gilmore Girls”, plays the role of Thors and in the theater version Take over Loki’s evil sister Hela. In the last film, Hela (in the non-theatrical version) was played by Cate Blanchett.

“Thor 4: Love And Thunder”: In cinemas from May 2022

Otherwise, “Thor 4” relies on star power: In addition to “Thor” actor Chris Hemsworth, Natalie Portman, Tessa Thompson and Christian Bale will be there. Also part of the cast are the “Guardians of the Galaxy” Chris Pratt, Pom Klementieff and Dave Bautista. Fans of Brie Larson can also hope: The actress is said to be there as Captain Marvel, but this has not yet been confirmed.

“Thor” fans have to be patient until the film starts: “Thor 4: Love And Thunder” is due to hit German cinemas on May 5th, 2022.
