Trinidad and Tobago Model Lina

Princeton, NJ, 8 Aug 2021, ZEXPRWIRE, For Kathy Andujar Achong who goes by the stage name ‘’Lina’’, the journey from Trinidadian model to Indianapolis based musical artist has been anything but typical. Born in Puerto Rico, and raised in Trinidad and Tobago, 23-year old Lina has persevered against the odds to carve a path of her own.

Many dream of becoming a professional model, but at the age of eighteen, Lina strategized to make that dream come true. Through networking and social media, she was able to showcase her talent globally. But she didn’t just post selfies and wait to be discovered. Lina also put herself through college by holding multiple jobs.

Meanwhile, she built her Instagram page @karolina.achong with professional photos, showcasing her natural beauty and obvious talent. Lina quickly built a supportive community with over eighty-thousand followers.

In May of 2020, she graduated with honors from the University of the West Indies. Graduating during a global pandemic presented a new challenge. With Trinidad and Tobago under lockdown, finding a job to utilize her Bachelor’s degree in Business Management proved nearly impossible.

Lina was determined not to be defeated by these obstacles. After carefully considering all options, it became apparent that moving to the U.S. was her next best step. Making an international move during the pandemic was a daunting task, but she knew the U.S. offered the resources to facilitate her dreams and goals.

Since moving to Indianapolis in September 2020, Lina has signed a contract with Helen Wells Modeling Agency, and landed a Lids commercial and contract with Finish Line.

Lina is now focused on her biggest dream…music. In August, her first song, titled “Nobody,” will be released across all musical platforms. The upbeat song, which she co-wrote, will be accompanied by the video filmed in Chicago.

Lina is clearly a rising star, but stays true to her humble roots. Her desire is to share her happiness and peace with the world. As she recently posted on Instagram, “God keeps blessing me more than I deserve, and I’m so grateful for every bit of it.”
